Why a Meet Up?
Polymer clay tends to be a solitary pursuit. We work alone, in our homes, and seldom meet another polymer clayer in real life unless. There are workshops and retreats around the world, but not everyone can travel to them and the cost can be prohibitive. Online groups are wonderful for quick info (such as Facebook) or for meaningful connections and deep learning (such as with Blue Bottle Insiders). But we still do need the tangible opportunity to share the joy we feel when learning about and creating with our beloved medium.
So I started partnering with local groups and guilds to bring polymer clay to local, IRL areas. It’s my goal that curious newbies will find out about polymer clay, enthusiasts will “find the others” and new relationships will be forged locally. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of finding your tribe close to home.

Our first Meet Ups were hosted by the British Polymer Clay Guild, and we held Meet Ups across the UK in 2024. I loved putting faces to so many of the names I’d gotten to know online!
Now, I’m coordinating with clay groups to bring Meet Ups to new areas. (Do you have a group that can host a Meet Up? Get in touch!)
The Traveling Polymer Clay Exhibition
One day during a Drop-In Zoom meeting in Blue Bottle Insiders, one member mentioned that she’d never seen anyone else’s polymer clay work in real life and that one of her goals was to see “the good stuff” someday. I remember what it was like when I was new and working alone. It’s hard to know what this stuff is “supposed” to feel and look like!
This inspired me to get in touch with professional polymer clay artists around the world and collect their art submissions for a curated “Traveling Polymer Clay Exhibition”. The collection is small and fits neatly into a carry-on suitcase. However, it features 35 top-notch, exquisite artworks selected for their unique qualities, exceptional workmanship, and artistic vision.

See special art from Melissa Terlizzi, Donna Kato, Carol Blackburn, Dan Cormier, Helen Breil, Rita Bothelo, Pavla Čepelíková, and many more. This is a remarkable opportunity to experience high-quality artwork from beloved professionals!
