About this Piece

Today was a busy day! Dick the Cat came to spend some time at Grandma’s house because my daughter will be traveling to a conference. And that meant we had a lovely day spent talking with her. I loved my kids as babies, but they’re so much more fun as adults. I never want her to leave!

I got this started before she arrived. It is made with scrap clay, and I just started mixing colors and playing with color as I essentially wiped the softened polymer clay “paint” on the “canvas”. I wasn’t sure what to do with it next, but after my daughter left and I had a chance to look at it again, I realized it was done. I did consider adding a gold something in the center as a focus. But I realized it was unnecessary. It’s enough on its own. Not everything has to be a pretty picture of something. Sometimes it’s okay to just be pretty.
