About this Piece
I know that some people feel that applying colors to a plain sheet of polymer clay is “cheating”, and that we might as well apply the colors to paper. That’s rather short-sighted, of course. Because when you’re working with unbaked polymer clay, it doesn’t have to stay flat. I’m just doing a study here to see what these materials can do, so I’m content with a simple square on board. But remember that we can fold, shape, drape, stretch, deform, and otherwise manipulate the raw clay into new shapes. And suddenly the possibilities become endless.
