Day 4 – Confetti Folds

This is Day 4 of my 100 Days of Wall Art project. You can learn more about my 100 Day Project here.

About this Piece

I think translucent will always be my true love with polymer clay. It’s just so magical. I love the way that it looks frosted and the colors muted, but after it’s baked, the translucent clears and the colors brighten. I got the idea from this on Instagram. Someone had white wool and was felting colorful shreds and snippets into it, then layering a sheet piece of wool over it. It was colorful and diaphonous. This isn’t the same effect at all, but it’s still fun. My biggest challenge was finding a way to “corrugate” the clay sheet.
