Do you ever see people’s jewelry and recognize the beads from the craft store? The best way to have truly one-of-a-kind beads for your jewelry is to make your own – and polymer clay is the perfect medium for this! This technique-based tutorial will teach you to make unique and unusual beads shapes with organic textures. You’ll then learn the secrets of creating rich, dimensional color patterns on those beads. Make OOAK artisan beads, accents, and focal bead, even if you have no previous experience in polymer clay.

Description

The Organic Beads Tutorial is 65 pages long and contains 185 photographs. This is a beginner level tutorial that requires no previous polymer clay experience. I don’t, however, cover the basics of working with polymer clay, so if you’re new to this material you might want to add my Polymer Clay Essentials eBook to your order.

No special materials are required for this tutorial. You likely have everything you need at home already, or you can find it at your local discount store. Plus you’ll need polymer clay, of course. It’s a great way to use up scrap clay.

Designed to compliment the Rustic Beads Tutorial, the shapes of this tutorial can be colored using the methods explained in the Rustic Beads Tutorial, and vice versa.

  1. This tutorial is the perfect complement to the Rustic Beads and Components tutorial here. And, it’s fun all on it’s own too. Like all of Ginger’s tutorials, it’s easy to follow with great photos, and lends itself to endless creative possibilities limited only by your own imagination.

  5. WOW! I really enjoyed going thru this tutorial. The instructions are step by step, clear pics , and you must take this tutorial if you’re going to take the Rustic. They really go together. I find myself excited to try these techniques out and add in my own little twist! Totally recommend taking this tutorial also plus the Rustic!

  7. This tutorial is just amazing! The techniques are very unique and produce lovely beads. Ginger goes into every step in detail with lots of pictures, so following along is a breeze. She has suggestions for endless variations; you can just keep going and create tons of different beads. She takes pains to make sure that the materials needed aren’t exotic and are easily available: a great example is the recipe she has included for mold putty alternative. She’s also very approachable if you have any questions. Overall, this is definitely one of my favorite tutorials ever!

As always, Ginger presents concise information with lots of ways for us to make it our own. I’m never left trying to puzzle my way from one step to the next. And this Organic Bead tutorial has opened my eyes to ways of making less labour intensive (no sanding! no worrying about fingerprints! Yay!) and totally unique beads. Thanks, Ginger.
