Can you boil polymer clay?

Boiling polymer clay is sometimes suggested as a way of curing, particularly when one does not have an oven. But beware, this doesn’t give you the results you are hoping for.

Hallstatt artifacts, especially pottery and jewelry, are my inspiration for much of my polymer clay work. This wall piece has several common Hallstatt motifs, such as triangles built of smaller triangles, and rows of concentric circles, concentric squares, and concentric triangles.
